ASUS Slimbook X401UNotebook is increasingly evolves to meet the needs of its users. If the first notebook is only used to support the work or tasks, nowadays notebook that accommodates the needs of the game have started to appear on the market.

One is ASUS Slimbook X401U. This is a notebook that is present to accommodate the needs of the game, but still support the needs of the job. Slimbook, this is the answer to the lifestyle needs of consumers by providing a variety of features in a lightweight design, weighing 1.7 kilograms and thin.

Slimbook is also embedded with a dual core AMD APU, which emphasizes visual features supporting graphics graphics capabilities, but does not sacrifice performance. Design:

ASUS Slimbook X401U comes with an attractive design in a thickness of less than 1 cm. 14-inch landscape display wrapped in plastic material. However, it remains protected against scratches, and glossy material bandage on the back of the screen also allows users to grasp.
With a 14-inch screen makes viewpoint of the user more comfortable than the netbooks are limited in landscape screen and a smaller keyboard board. You can be more satisfied looking at 14-inch wide screen with good graphics quality.

Moreover, the aspect ratio of the screen is 16:9. The screen is LED backlight technology which has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.

Touchpad feature on the laptop is quite extensive. By using a finger, users can explore the screen easily. It can with two or three fingers either upward or downward. The process of scrolling becomes faster. With this feature by pinching, the screen can be reduced, and vice versa to make the large screen as the zoom out mode.

Although convenient, this feature was initially very sensitive, and feels slippery. So sometimes accidentally, cursor can run everywhere. However, if users have to adapt, the touchpad can be controlled easily.

By leveraging the vast space, the spaces between the keys do not coincide. This is to minimize the error rate when typing because the distance between the keys is quite wide.

Slimbook X401U has dimensions of 34.4 x 24.1 x 1.76 mm and weighs 2:40 kg. Because less than 1 cm, the laptop is not equipped with a space for the optical disk drive.

Connectivity:

Slimbook X401U has several connectivity. The left side of the notebook is available in two ports, one USB 2.0 port and charger port. While on the right side, there is one USB 3.0 port, 3.5mm audio jack, HDMI connector, VGA output RJ45 LAN and SD card.

For audio, Slimbook X40U1 equipped with SonicMaster Lite with Altec Lansing speakers, which is located in the bottom left of the keyboard. To play a song or video, its voice is loud, comfortable and maximum volume while still half. But when playing 3D movies, the volume should be maximized to the end.

Performance:

Slimbook X401U uses an AMD Accelerated Processing Unit(APU) dual-core C-60 1GHz with integrated graphics card, Radeon HD 6290 and 2GB DDR3 RAM. To response into Windows 7 system, takes a long time, over a minute. As for the shutdown of the system, this notebook took 33 seconds. Meanwhile, if from the stand-by position, only takes instant to on, 2 seconds to return to the main menu.

Based on the parameters of the Windows Experience Index, the ability of the processor get 2.6 rating out of a maximum number of 7.9. Graphics performance gets 3.9 rating and 3D gaming graphics get 5.5 rating.

When it is used to play games that classified as mild, it was not perceived problems. Graphics for the game also looks work well, although it is difficult to use high-class gaming.


IceCool technology proved enough to cut the heat from the notebook, although used all day, from morning to evening. When tested, this notebook fixed maximum and no heat.

ASUS Slimbook X40U1 a gaming notebook that can display excellent image quality or high definition video. Although it is equipped with AMD processor acceleration, the boot time is still less than the maximum for a notebook class that is devoted to gamers.

However, with the ability to run HD video, this notebook present with netbook class price and power management is quite good.
